Normal labour

This video illustrates the three stages of normal labour.

First stage: Cervical effacing and dilatation
Second stage: Delivering of the baby with cardinal movements
Third stage: Delivering of the placenta

BUT the midline episiotomy shown in the video is NOT recommended, as the risk for obstetric anal sphincter rupture is high. The episiotomy, if performed, should always be a lateral or medio-lateral, as illustrated with an arrow on the image below.
