The ovary and uterine tube

This selection of sections shows you the microscopic anatomy of the ovary and the Fallopian tube, and in addition you may study the early development of the internal genital organs. The sections help you visualize the maturation of the egg from the earliest stage to its release from the ovary. Furthermore, knowldge of the microstructure of the tube helps you understand its normal function and why this may be easily disturbed (by, for example, infections).
