The four proteins in liver HFE, HJV (hemojovelin), HAMP (hepcidin antimicrobial peptide) and Tfr2 (transferrin receptor 2) are normal. Hepcidin is produced according to iron status and regulates export of iron from enterocytes and macrophages to the circulation.
